AFTER 33 years in Malaysia, Amway (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Amway) and over 200 of its staff at the headquarters celebrated the move to their impressive new corporate headquarters.
From humble beginnings to its current office location in Jalan 223, Petaling Jaya, Amway’s bigger and enhanced headquarters is a testament of the steady growth of the multinational company.
Made up of an office and a warehouse block, the new headquarters is three times larger in terms of the build-up and land size of the previous headquarters.
“The need for a new office was driven by the growth of our business. The Amway brand has become a household name in Malaysia and with the larger and enhanced facilities at this new headquarters, we will continue to bring our products and business opportunity to Malaysians,” said Amway’s general manager Paul Yee.
“We are at a pivotal point in our company’s history. With our new headquarters comes our promise to deliver efficient service and quality Amway products to our loyal distributors and customers. We have never been prouder of our legacy than today,” said Yee.
The new headquarters with its built up of 202,500 square feet has many enhanced facilities such as an in-house café, a training centre, a retail shop as well as a Brand Centre. The café, shop and Brand Centre are still undergoing renovations and will be ready in early 2010.
To ensure its employees’ health and well-being and promote increased productivity levels, there is also a gym with shower facilities in the building. The new headquarters also has a larger warehouse and order processing facility providing greater efficiency and comfort for the distributors.
“The warehouse is unconventionally located on the first floor as our objective is to keep the ground floor wholly dedicated to serving the distributors,” said Yee.
The building, reflecting Amway’s desire for greener and eco-friendly surroundings, is dotted with a large number of trees and shrubs and is designed with floor to ceiling windows to allow for natural lighting.
Other sustainable features include energy-efficient air conditioning. Not forgetting its responsibility to the well-being of the disabled, the building incorporates facilities for the disabled including a ramp, special toilets, reserved parking lots as well as tactile flooring for the visually impaired.
Since setting up business in Malaysia in 1976, Amway has gone from being located in a small office and warehouse facility along Jalan Ipoh with only five employees to the imposing new headquarters, in addition to 12 other Regional Distribution Centres (including one in Brunei) and eight shops nationwide.
Amway employs a growing staff force of more than 350 people in Malaysia and Brunei with 212 based at the PJ headquarters.
Amway’s new headquarters is located at No 28, Jalan 223, 46100, Petaling Jaya. Those interested in visiting the headquarters may do so during the Amway Product Expo taking place on Nov 14 between 1 to 6pm and Nov 15 between 9am to 1pm.

His far-sightedness has rewarded him with strong Amway businesses in Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, United States of America, India, Singapore and many other countries. Actively partnering with ambitious Amway Distributors throughout his organization, he enjoys a strong camaraderieship with like-minded people from all walks of life, who believe in working together for a better tomorrow, through Amway.
