談到「母親」或「太太」，會讓你想到甚麼？家庭主婦、家務、照顧子女、倚賴丈夫？社會上大多數的人，包括我們自己，也不知不覺為「家庭主婦」下了這些定義。當然，擁有高學歷的一群，還可以在優薪的經濟環境下，當上現代的「女強人」，但默默地日以繼夜照顧子女的家庭主婦，她們是否就沒有選擇？

何靈豐(Cherry)、馮芷娟(Mandy)及黎殷岐三位母親，她們雖然擁有截然不同的家庭背景，但卻曾經同樣地以為自己走在一條沒分叉的路上，過著平淡的生活。遇上安利，讓她們發現生命原來可以過得更有希望，選擇原來一直在所有人身邊，等待我們去把握，從而活出豁然不同的人生路。

Of course, many women, especially those with a good education, now choose to pursue a career and earn their own income, but is there any other option open to those housewives who still wish to stay at home, but are looking
for something more in life?

Cherry, Mandy and Lai Yan-ki, are three mothers from different family backgrounds who all believed they were destined to live quite ordinary stay-at-home lives. However, thanks to Amway, they have all experienced a way of life they never imagined would be possible.

純如白紙奈何淡而無味
何靈豐(Cherry)自畢業後便結識現時丈夫，隨即開展無憂無慮的婚姻生活。「因為丈夫的生意不錯，我毋須工作，兒子亦有工人照顧，衣食住行一切稱心，半點不用為家庭擔憂。」形容自己非常幸運的她，卻以「天真」自嘲。「我的思想很簡單，又沒經過工作的歷練，人情世故看不懂，兒子會笑我天真幼稚，丈夫常把我形容為一張白紙。他們從沒給我壓力，故此自己也沒想過改變。」

然而，白紙般的性格，也帶來了白紙般的生活。「當我跟丈夫出席商務會議時，他總會叫我不要說話，微笑點頭便可，其實是怕我說錯話。」Cherry漸感生活淡而無味，直至丈夫介紹了一位非常出色的安利前輩給她認識，這給Cherry帶來了重大啟發。

內在改變比幸福更幸福
「女人可以年華老去，但不可以言而無味。」前輩這句話讓Cherry至今仍然深刻。除了外表，原來善良的心和內在智慧更能突顯一個人的美。「行走在學習與智慧中的女人是最美的。」Cherry深感認同，而且萌生了改變自己的希望，因此她決定加入安利充實自己。「安利獨特之處，是集合了許多不同背景的人，從芸芸領導人身上累積一點一滴的學問和優點，令我成長了不少。」

隨著Cherry學會了口才及許多待人處事的技巧，她與丈夫和兒子之間逐漸增添了話題。「人生最幸福的事，就是有人愛、有人教。而我很幸運地，兩者兼得。安利的領導人很具魅力，說話引人入勝而且發人深省，久而久之自己也喜歡了學習說話的技巧，並嘗試啟發家人。成績優異的兒子和擁有很高知識水平的姐姐竟然不約而同讚賞我說的話，甚至把它記下來，令我感到非常意外。」家人的認同，令Cherry感到自己比以前更幸福、更有意義。

財富以外更深層助人意義
Cherry對財富的看法，別有一番體會。「擁有財富固然可以助人，簡單得如捐款一樣；但要切實幫助別人改善生活，是一個長遠的事業機會。《老子》一書有云：『授人以魚，不如授之以漁。』意喻你給予一個人衣食，倒不如給他謀生活的方法。」

A Search for Substance
Cherry was lucky because her businessman husband was able to provide her with an affluent lifestyle. She didn’t need to work after graduation and had a maid to look after the children, but then Cherry began to tire of such a shallow lifestyle. She was irritated when her son saw her as a “simple thinking” mother and her
husband referred to her as being pure, just like a sheet of plain paper. Then, by chance, she came across the Amway opportunity, which inspired her to reach beyond her domestic role.

Personal Change
Cherry realised that education and diligence could enrich the “inner beauty” of a woman, and she saw Amway as an opportunity to increase her knowledge and worldliness. Developing the Amway business helped her to improve her range of skills and at the same time broaden her mind. She’s now happy to instigate conversations with her husband and son, and the increased appreciation she gets from her family and friends has made her life more meaningful.

Helping Others
Now free of the shackles of her shallow lifestyle, Cherry has found another definition for “wealth”. She explained that people with money can help others by making donations, but the Amway business gives people to develop a whole new definition of wealth – the opportunity to help others live better lives.

Even though many different foods are a source of protein, plant protein is a better choice because, unlike animal protein, it’s devoid of cholesterol and much lower in fat.

乳糖不耐症的患者多數是成年人，他們先天缺乏了可以消化牛奶中乳糖的酵素 — 乳糖脢，所以他們在喝了牛奶或是吃了奶製品後，無法完全消化其中的乳糖，這些未經消化吸收的乳糖被送到大腸之後，會被大腸內的細菌發酵分解，而成為大量的脂肪酸及氣體，並使大腸吸入大量的水分，因而產生噁心、腹瀉、腹脹、腹絞痛、及頻頻放屁的症狀，這些症狀通常在吃了牛奶或奶製品的30分鐘到兩小時後發生。

由於亞洲人患上乳糖不耐症的比例較高，而要避免進食含牛奶的食物，但因此有可能影響了蛋白質的吸收。

Excellent Protein Source
Plants are also an excellent protein source for those who are lactose intolerant – which includes a high percentage of Chinese people. Lactose intolerance is the inability, or insufficient ability, to digest lactose as a result of a deficiency in the lactase enzyme and is a common condition that is more likely to occur in adulthood. People with lactose intolerance may feel uncomfortable between 30 minutes and two hours after consuming milk or milk products. Symptoms range from mild to severe based on the amount of lactose consumed and the amount a person can tolerate. Common symptoms of lactose intolerance include abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, gas, diarrhea and nausea.

What can we do to make the world a better place? I have talked to people around the world about this topic. I have discussed it with scholars, government officials, colleagues in the industry, Amway distributors and friends who come over for dinner. While it is a complex question with a number of variables, one theme rises above the rest as a key component to making the world a better place: entrepreneurialism.

Entrepreneurs, and the economic development they foster, play a critical role in successful societies. Individuals who build businesses of their own are the answer to helping our world achieve economic stability—the kind that lifts everyone up.

Entrepreneurs are a powerful, often overlooked, group of individuals. While corporations are important to our economy, entrepreneurs are just as important, if not more so. We’ve seen it time and again in our industry. A person starts out selling products, builds a business and then helps others learn how to do the same.

At the same time, these individuals are often sharing their time, talent and treasure with their communities to help build them up. The entrepreneurs we encounter each day create an economic and social ripple effect that makes the direct selling industry unique. No other industry can say it empowers people the way we do.

Economic Freedom
Our industry inherently promotes free enterprise, and that is why I am particularly proud to be a part of WFDSA, as well as DSA, and call you all my colleagues.

Free enterprise, at its most basic level, is about opportunity—opportunity for everyone.

Of course my perspective comes from Amway, so let me talk about what free enterprise means to us. We are a business without limits. Anyone is welcome to join us. And each individual’s success is directly impacted by their hard work. We can’t build a distributor’s business for them, but we can give the products and support to help them. Our business, like many of your businesses, is about opportunity and fostering an environment where entrepreneurs can work as hard as they want and enjoy the benefits of their accomplishments.

We give people an opportunity to achieve earned success. This is about having the freedom to make lifestyle choices. For some people, their Amway business allows them to spend more time with their families, or save for a vacation they’ve wanted to take. For others, it’s the chance to take on a leadership position where they can help others earn success.

Earned Success
It is a proven fact that the happiest people are those who believe they’ve created, built or contributed to their own success. One of my friends, Arthur C. Brooks, President of the American Enterprise Institute, talks about this idea at events all around the country. He has written a book called The Battle: How the Fight Between Free Enterprise and Big Government Will Shape America’s Future, where he has data to back up what we already know—individuals crave a sense of accomplishment.

Earned success is the creation of value in our lives or in the lives of others. People who have earned their success are, quite simply, happier than those who have achieved success in other ways. Individuals want to be responsible for their own success. Our distributors around the world tell us how satisfying it is to own their own business, go out and work hard, and watch their business grow.

Brooks says that financial metrics aren’t the only measures of happiness. This is where our industry comes in. Direct selling companies bring free enterprise and opportunity to entrepreneurs all over the world by giving them the chance to make choices about their lifestyles—how they spend their time and the people they choose to spend their time with. We can all agree that financial success is nice, but there are a lot of entrepreneurs in this world who find joy in noneconomic endeavors. To them, success is defined by volunteering at a soup kitchen or having the flexibility to attend their child’s basketball game.

Strong Economies
While free enterprise brings opportunity, we believe it also brings responsibility. At Amway, we’re committed to helping people live better lives. This applies to our employees, distributors, families and communities. Like many of you, we believe in helping out. The devastation in Japan and Haiti are two of the most recent examples where we’ve come together to help those who are suffering.

The most amazing attribute of our industry is that we do the right thing—we help others—because it is who we are as an industry. We believe in sharing our resources and empowering others so that they, too, can give back.

We all want to make the world a better place. And our dedication, as an industry, to helping entrepreneurs succeed is one of the most important factors in lifting up the economy, not just in your own country, but all around the world.

By continuing our focus on free enterprise and opportunity, we can help people achieve earned success, however they define it. This in turn will help them to invest time, dollars and talent in their communities, pursue greater accomplishments and help improve economic vitality around the world.

Omega-3 may be good for your mood

Role of Omega Fatty Acids in Good Nutrition
Omega-3s are termed essential fatty acids (EFAs) because they are critical for good health. Since the body cannot make them on its own, omega-3s must be obtained from food.

Key Functions

Reduce hypertension. Studies of large groups of people have found that the consumption of omega-3 fatty acids may aid in lowering overall blood pressure level.
Improve heart health. Omega-3 fatty acids may play a part in keeping cholesterol levels low, stabilizing irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia), and reducing blood pressure.
Protecting the heart. Researchers now believe that alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), one of the omega-3s, may be particularly beneficial in protecting against heart and blood vessel disease, and for lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Food Sources
Key omega-3 fatty acids include eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexanoic acid (DHA), and alpha-lineolenic acid (ALA). EPAs and DHAs are found in oily cold-water fish such as tuna, salmon, and mackerel, as well as fresh seaweed. ALAs are found primarily in dark green leafy vegetables, flaxseed oils, and certain vegetable oils.

Usage
There is no established recommended daily intake for omega-3s, but a healthy diet containing significant amounts of foods rich in this essential fatty acid is recommended.

Omega-3 fatty acids are very safe to consume. However, most experts recommend limiting fish consumption to two to three servings weekly because so many fish may be tainted with mercury and other contaminants. Fish oil capsules do not usually present this same risk.

Safety Evidence
There are no known side effects associated with increasing your intake of omega-3 fatty acids through foods, although fish oil capsules do pose the risk of a "burp" factor – a harmless, sometimes unpleasant, fishy aftertaste that occurs with some brands of fish oil capsules.

5月12日，第四届世界环保大会组委会在北京向社会公布了自今年二月份正式启动的“国际碳金奖”评选活动情况。

“国际碳金奖”是世界环保大会首次以“低碳转型最佳实践价值”为衡量标准，从“低碳战略、应用实践、社会价值”三个维度和“基本要素、创新优势、可持续力量”三个经度，建立全面性、持续性和立体式的评估体系来衡量候选者，并最终颁发给符合自身、专家、社会公众三方联合评价标准的在低碳发展领域，促进社会转型的最佳引领者、实践者。

截止4月30日申报日期，已经收到国内外近百家参评企业的申请，经过数据核对与调查问卷的及时回馈和准确性，并通过申报企业基本要素筛选，现予以正式向社会公示候选企业三十家。目前组委会正通过媒体开展征集社会公众网民的针对性企业调查问卷回收工作，公示候选企业涵盖了世界五百强、大中型国有企业、优势民营企业等，参评企业从资金投入、生产经营、技术研发、产品服务及社会责任等诸多方面，展示了其在低碳环保领域所做出的成果和贡献。

Entrepreneurship in Europe

Amway’s recent survey in eleven European countries revealed that nearly 70% of those interviewed had a positive attitude toward self-employment. In fact, most of the more than 12,000 respondents could see themselves starting their own business – without any employees.

“On average, 46% of respondents favor solo self-employment as an easily applicable way of entrepreneurship,” says Michael Meissner, Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Amway Europe.” These results strongly indicate that there’s a robust business start-up potential across Europe.

The face-to-face and telephone interviews were conducted over three months by Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung (GfK) in Nuremberg, Germany. The results also indicated that of those respondents aged 14-29, 79% have a positive attitude toward self-employment. That’s a whole new generation of would-be business owners.

Solo self-employment is especially appealing to people in Italy, Germany and France. Self-employment as a secondary occupation is most favored among respondents in the three German-speaking countries and Poland. What motivates them to become an entrepreneur? Independence (40%) and self-fulfillment (35%).

But what holds them back?

The survey showed that 54% of the respondents perceive that a lack of capital is the biggest barrier to become self-employed, edging out fear of failure (34%). Only 20% cite the lack of a business idea to be an issue.

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Meissner presented Amway’s European Entrepreneurship Study at an Amway Political Lunch in Berlin on November 2nd. Guests included 23 members from the Federal Ministry of Economics, the German Bundestag, business associations, NGOs and science.

The group discussed the emerging trend of solo self-employment in Germany, with Amway in the role of an expert and a contributor to a socio-political debate positioning the Amway Business Opportunity as a much-requested business model for Europe.

Hope
Even when you’re busy building your career, don’t forget to take the time to look at what you’ve achieved. Is everything going smoothly according to your original plan? Or are things going against your goals?

I grew up in an impoverished family. My parents were rubber tappers and my childhood memory consisted largely of the hard life in the rubber estate. However, the harmony and serenity of nature that surrounded me gave me joy. Nature comforted and soothed me.

From a young age, I dreamed of earning a stable, big income, travelling overseas, and living a comfortable, free and easy life. I managed to realise this dream with Amway. “There is always hope in this world and one of it is Amway.”

A home is a shelter full of warmth, positive emotions and touching moments. I was brought up in such an environment. Though poor and living in a relatively small house made of wood and atap nipah, my family gave their all to our home. We felt protected and safe.

We are trying to refocus our energy back to the First Circle. In the First Circle, the people you have to pay attention to is the person you sponsored. But the First Circle is your circle. You think of what's in your circle.

you are rewarded in relationship to what you have in your circle.

It is important to have the circle filled of all your people. But all of your people will not fill their circles unless you fill your circle, because they follow you. They finally do what you do, not what you tell them to do. It's that you grow, they grow.

The goal of the business if to help other people make money. Not just get people to get other people.

We have to make and do everything we can to help each person make money.

And if you study the business, you know that people who just sponsor and don't get customers, don't make any money for a long time, a lot of them, if not most of them, quit.

If somebody starts to make a few dollars, I mean $50, $100 a month, they will stay with you forever as long as they make a little money. But, you must help them make some money.

But we skipped that step too often. And we are now trying to return to that step.

That's not a new idea. It's a old idea that needs to be submitted in our minds, in our heads because that is the way to build a strong business, in a long run.

When everybody has a few customers, then you have a business, a marketing business.

If we all have 10 customers, this business will triple, overnight. Your PV will triple when we just fill the First Circle.

We found most people as you have that fear is one of the biggest problems they deal with, and the fear of being unable to do it. Scared!

If we can teach a person to get customers as easy as it is today, then they will know they can get 2 customers. How simple it is. That's how we learn. That's how we fill the First Circle, when we begin to get a good number in the First Circle.

What makes this business so powerful and especially when you fill the First Circle, is the fundamental thing we did in the very first was the Pass-through System; the ability to have the money always move to the people who are doing the work.

There is no top in our business.

PETALING JAYA: Amway (Malaysia) Holding Bhd expects to maintain its high single-digit revenue growth and net profit in its current financial year, said managing director Low Han Kee.

The leading multi-level marketing multinational posted a net profit of RM18.3mil for its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2010, compared with RM16.3mil in the corresponding period a year earlier.

For the full financial year (FY10), net profit rose 8.1% to RM78.3mil from RM72.4mil previously. FY10 revenue stood at RM719.4mil, up 8.4% from RM663.9mil in FY09.

“This (was) another record year for Amway, achieving growth in 31 out of 34 years of operations in Malaysia.

“It proves that our key initiatives have worked well,” he told reporters yesterday after the launch of Amway's RM7mil brand experience centre at its RM100mil new headquarters.

Low said the brand experience centre would support Amway's 221,000 local distributors by providing a conducive environment for product knowledge, human resource training and also helped to strengthen distributors' confidence and rapport with their customers.

Amway Corp executive vice-president Jim Payne said the brand experience centre in Malaysia was the fifth largest in terms of size and the most technologically advanced centre among Amway's current 40 brand experience centres globally.

On the changing landscape for the multi-level direct selling sector, Payne said the advent of various social media such as Facebook, Tweeter and others presented opportunities for Amway to enhance its front-end and back-end multi-level marketing via these channels.

“We embrace such innovations and continue to invested in new technology to remain competitive,” he said, adding that Amway Corp had over the years invested about US$500mil in new technology.

Low also said it was interesting to note that around 50% of Amway's current revenue was achieved via the Internet.

On other challenges, he said maintaining a strong distributor workforce was important. “Currently about 55% of our distributors are below 35 years of age,” he said. Amway has over 250 products marketed in over 80 countries. In Malaysia to date, Amway has 15 shops including a one-stop shop facility at its headquarters.

Amway declared a total dividend of 66 sen net per share or net yield of 8.1% for FY10.

Globally Amway Corp posted revenue of US$9.3bil last year.

A Diet Rich in a Colorful Variety of Fruits and Veggies is Most Beneficial

BUENA PARK, Calif., October 15, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — According to the Surgeon General’s Office, an estimated 10 million Americans over 50 have bone health issues, while another 34 million are at risk. One of the easiest ways to combat bone health issues is by eating a diet rich in colorful fruits and vegetables, although a report released by the Nutrilite Health Institute (www.nutrilite.com/color) reveals Americans who fail to eat enough fruits and vegetables are likely not getting enough bone-building nutrients like calcium and vitamin D.

Exercise. Keep in mind that diet alone will not keep your bones dense and strong. A weight-bearing exercise program that includes walking, jogging or running, and use of free weights, is important for bone health.

Nutrilite comes out top on brand survey

Almost 80 per cent of consumers are 'extremely' or 'very' satisfied with the supplement brands they have used, according to a new survey by ConsumerLab, which also reveals the brand names rated most highly by consumers.

Direct sales brand Nutrilite gained a 96 per cent satisfaction rating, coming out on top, while the specialist store GNC came bottom with a rating of 58 per cent, found the survey.

The Vitamin Shoppe and Vitamin World chains were the consumers' favorite store brands while Now and Solaray tied in the health food store category.

Puritan's Pride won the highest satisfaction rating for a catalogue brand, Schiff is the favorite mass market brand and Walgreen's is the pharmacy leader, according to the survey, which was based on 6,395 responses from members of ConsumerLab.com's e-Newsletter. It was conducted by Hartman Interactive, the online division of research and consulting firm The Hartman Group.

Perceived 'effectiveness' was found to be the most important determinant of overall satisfaction with brands.

The survey also explored the use of supplements for specific health conditions. Supplements were most often taken for 'general health' (72 per cent of respondents), colds (48 per cent), 'energy enhancement' (37 per cent), osteoarthritis (34 per cent), 'cholesterol-lowering' (31 per cent), followed by cancer prevention, allergy and weight management (25 per cent). Forty-three per cent of respondents used supplements for six or more conditions.

To help select brands, 67 per cent of respondents indicated that they used information from ConsumerLab.com. The next most popular sources of information were product labels (38 per cent), magazines (38 per cent), books (35 per cent), other Internet sources (32 per cent) with manufacturers making up only 31 per cent of responses.

肠胃专科兼肝臟疾病专科顾问医生韦俊韜说，人体有平衡酸碱的本能，肾臟和肺臟时时刻刻都负责调整的任务，没必要饮用碱性水。

他说，商家宣传能治疗多种病痛，包括头髮脱落、骨质疏松症，甚至癌症，都没有经过医学证明。

韦俊韜说，肾臟会把酸性排出体外，如果吃进了过多的酸性食物，譬如今天多喝了柠檬酸柑水，肾臟就会加强工作，把更多的酸性排出体外；肺臟也有排放酸性物质的作用，当一个人因肾亏而排酸功能下降的时候，就会出现气喘的现象，这时肺部会排出更多氧化碳，而氧化碳就是酸性物。

他指出，人体平衡酸碱的本能与生俱来，没有必要喝碱性水。

一位姓叶家庭医生，最近也因为常有病人问他喝碱性水是否有好处，而在报章的言论版上，吁请公眾不要轻易相信有关碱性水的宣传，因为这些宣传文字把碱性水捧上天，把它形容为能医百病的仙丹灵药。

“最可悲的是，许多人信以为真，商家在宣传时大吹大擂，但他们说的都未经科学证明。”

叶医生说，到目前为止，没有任何一份信誉卓著的科学或医学刊物，刊载了谈论碱性水对人有益的文章。

因此，叶医生建议当局採取行动，遏止这类充满误导性的宣传，免得公眾蒙受欺骗。

Eat more fruits and vegetables. 7 to 9 servings a day is optimal.
Quit or decrease smoking. Any reduction is helpful to your health.
Eat more whole grains. Avoid white flour, and beware of descriptors such as multi-grain or enriched grain in breads and cereals.
Get help for depression or stress. Find ways to maintain a positive outlook. Don’t hesitate to seek help from a professional.
Calculate your BMI, waist-to-hip ratio, and percent body fat. Following these 25 steps will get you to a healthy size. Losing weight isn’t a strategy for attaining optimal health, it’s a result.
Calculate how many calories you need. If you are overweight or obese, reduce your daily calories by 300 to 500.
Learn how to estimate your caloric intake. You won’t have to carry a chart for the rest of your life if you spend time learning the caloric values of the food you eat.
Wear sunscreen. Use an SPF 30 or above, and avoid tanning beds.
Eat carbohydrates with low glycemic index. These will help you feel fuller on less food and fewer calories.
Take basic supplements. A multivitamin is a good place to start.
Kick the fad diet habit. Fad diets haven’t withstood the test of time or scientific scrutiny.
Exercise your religious faith. Whatever you believe, believe it intensely.
Avoid high-fructose corn syrup. Easier said than done, since it’s in virtually everything from beverages to ketchup. Read labels.
Get enough rest. Seven to eight hours a night is ideal.
Use only canola and extra-virgin olive oil. Replace all other oils with these two.
Eat organic as much as possible. This includes vegetables, fruits, meats, grains, eggs, and dairy as well.
Decrease alcohol use. Preferably to zero.
Get more omega-3 in your diet. First clear it with your doctor, then find good-quality supplements.
Reduce exposure to contagious diseases. Especially STDs.
Get regular checkups with your doctor. Get the recommended tests and screenings for your age and gender.
Cut back on processed foods. Eat whole foods instead.
Move your body more. Daily activity is essential.
Reduce your exposure to chemicals. Besides avoiding chemical-laden food, consider an air or water purifier.
Eat less dark meat. Especially beef, pork, and processed meats.
Get genetic testing. Ask your doctor about genetic tests for chronic diseases, as they become commercially available.

Seven Reasons to Take a Daily Multivitamin

Many physicians and nutritionists remain skeptical about the preventive health benefits of taking a high-quality multivitamin/multimineral/multiphytonutrient supplement. Yet the Harvard School of Public Health, among many other respected institutions, recommends a daily multivitamin for good health.

Scientists don't disagree that micronutrients--that is, vitamins, minerals, and other substances found in food--play key roles in the reduction of chronic inflammation and oxidative stress. They don't disagree that vitamins and minerals can help prevent diseases and illness. But for a variety of reasons, the supplements that provide such necessary nutrients have gotten a bad rap.

A Mayo Clinic study found that 61 percent of people admit to taking supplements. If you're still on the fence about the benefits, here are seven reasons why you should take a daily multivitamin:

Vitamins and minerals can repair DNA damage--helping you live longer. A number of studies have found that people who are nutritionally deficient have DNA that looks as if it's been damaged by x-ray radiation. When these people are replenished with the lacking vitamins and minerals, and then reexamined, their DNA looks normal. Our bodies have enzymes that can repair DNA--but require certain nutrients in order to accomplish that task.

The recommended levels of nutrients are minimum amounts. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) was created in 1941 to give Americans on food rations guidelines on how many nutrients they needed to prevent deficiency diseases such as scurvy, rickets, and beriberi. The RDAs represent only the minimum amounts your body needs--not the optimal amounts.

Most of us are nutritionally deficient. Most people, when tested, are shown to be nutritionally deficient. The US Department of Agriculture reported that 93 percent of adults get inadequate amounts of vitamin E, 56 percent are deficient in magnesium, 31 percent get inadequate vitamin C, 70 percent are deficient in vitamin D, and the list goes on and on.

Higher levels of certain nutrients have been shown to be beneficial. Levels of certain nutrients higher than the RDA, such as vitamins D, C, E, and the mineral calcium, have been shown in numerous studies to benefit the health of tissues in other ways besides just preventing deficiency diseases.

Other nutrients found in high-quality multivitamins are beneficial too. The best multivitamins also contain plant chemicals known as phytonutrients. For example, lycopene has been shown to benefit prostate, lung, stomach, pancreas, breast, and other cells. Green tea polyphenols benefit breast, bladder, pancreas, and other cells. Quercetin benefits prostate cells. Here again, the benefits of phytonutrients are extensive and widely agreed upon.

A typical American diet cannot provide all the necessary trace minerals and vitamins. If you eat a healthy, balanced diet, you'll get all the nutrients you need, right? Wrong, unless you have a master's degree in food science and some very precise measuring instruments. For example, how many bites of black, red Russian, or purple kale per day are necessary to obtain the B6 you need every day?

Our contemporary lifestyle makes supplementation more necessary than ever. The way our food is grown and processed, the environmental toxins we're exposed to, and other aspects of contemporary diet and lifestyle, such as the shift from manual labor to sedentary work, have made chronic diseases more prevalent than they were just 200 years ago. Studies show a direct correlation between micronutrients and disease prevention, and the best way to get plenty of these is by eating well and supplementing with a multivitamin/multimineral/multiphytonutrient.

Holly and Barry Celebrate 70 FAA Point Achievement in Ada

Holly Chen and Barry Chi have attained the highest achievement in the Amway business to date with 70 FAA points. To celebrate their accomplishment, Holly and Barry were invited to Ada following this year's Founders Council event for a celebration held on May 10, 2010.

Hundreds of World Headquarters employees gathered in the Welcome Center to greet Holly, Barry, their family and over 100 of their downline distributors, which included seven other Founders Council members. Amway Chairman, Steve Van Andel greeted the group and provided Holly and Barry with a congratulatory gift and message.

Holly and Barry both expressed their gratitude to the crowd of employees and downline distributors. When asked what the Amway business means to her, Holly simply stated, “Amway makes the world smaller, but your family bigger.”

12,000 Chinese Distributors Visit Nutrilite

Amway China participated in the largest distributor event ever held at Nutrilite during the month of June. More than 12,000 top distributors visited Southern California, filling 14 hotels in the Anaheim area. Assisted by 200 Chinese staff, five different yet
substantial waves traveled to sunny California to visit the Center for Optimal Health (COH) facility for a week-long educational trip. The trip served as the annual Leadership Training Seminar for these distributors, which included a tour of COH to see the manufacturing process of Nutrilite products.

A trip to the Lakeview Farm was also included as an educational destination on the
road to health knowledge. The groups were each given a tour of the farming
operation and the on-site facilities.

Amway China staff also built in time for visitors to explore other local attractions such as Disneyland and shopping at major outlet malls. The trip was heralded by The Los Angeles Times, one of the largest newspapers in the United States. The publication featured distributors and the boost their trip provided to the local economy. As one of the largest tourist groups ever brought to California, the event created excitement around the state and around Amway. We can only imagine the feeling of enthusiasm of 13,000 motivated distributors!

Victor's passing in 2004 was the lowest point in my life. After an accomplished career in the architecture design industry, he only left behind the images of the buildings and the memories of their time together for his children. We wouldn't be able to continue living a secure, stable life if Victor and I hadn't become Distributors. Even to just survive would be difficult.

In facing a loss like this, time is the best medicine. I took a couple of years to recover; something I was able to do because of the security of the Amway business.

在90年代初，郑李锦芬女士积极推动美国安利公司来华投资。在中国营运15来，安利（中国）在直销行业屡开先河、刷新诸多纪录的同时，也获得多项企业殊荣包括连续七年位列中国外商投资企业百强。在2009年，安利中国的销售额突破30亿美元大关，是安利任何单一市场所得到前所未有的营业额记录。郑李锦芬女士的成就和影响力也让她于2008及2009年两度被美国《福布斯》杂志评选为“全球百位最具影响力女性”。

今天在竞争激烈的世界中，你付出多一点，便可赢得多一点。好像奥运会一样，如果跑短赛，虽然是跑第一的那个赢了，但比第二、第三的只胜出少许，只要快一点，便是赢。
当你作出决定后，便要一心一意地朝着目标走，常常记着名誉是你的最大资产，今天便要建立起来。
在事业上谋求成功，没有什么绝对的公式，但如果能依赖某些原则的话，能将成功的希望提高许多。
苦难的生活，是我人生的最好锻炼，尤其是做推销员，使我学会了不少的东西，明白了不少事理。所以这些，是我天10亿100亿也买不到的。

在看苏东坡的故事后，就知道什么叫无故受伤害。苏东坡没有野心，但就是给人陷害，他弟弟说得对：我哥哥错在出名，错在出高调。这个真是很无奈的过失。
年轻时我表面谦虚，其实我内心很骄傲。为什么骄傲呢？因为同事们去玩的时候，我去求学问；他们每天保持原状，而自己的学问日渐提高。
我这棵小树是从沙石风雨中长出来的，你们可以去山上试试，由沙石长出来的小树，要拔去是多么的费力啊！但从石缝里长出来的小树，则更富有生命力。

要给员工好的待遇及前途，让他们有受重视的感觉。当然，还要有良好的监督和制衡制度，不然山高皇帝远，一个好人也会变坏。
虽然老板受到的压力较大，但是做老板所赚的钱，已经多过员工很多，所以我事事总不忘提醒自己，要多为员工考虑，让他们得到应得的利益。
我认为要像西方那样，有制度且比较进取，用两种方式来做，而不是全盘西化或是全盘儒家。儒家有它的好处，也有它的短处，儒家在进取方面是很不够的。
一间小的家庭式公司要一手一脚去做，得当公司发展大子，便要让员工有归属感，令他们感到安心，这是十分重要的。管理之道，简单来说是知人善任，但在原则上一定要令他们有归属感，要他们喜欢你。
只有博大的胸襟，自己才不会那么骄傲，不会认为自己样样出众，承认其他人的长处，得到他人的帮助，这便是古人所说的有容乃大的道理。
凡事都留个余地，因为人是人，人不是神，不免有错处，可以原谅人的地方，就原谅人。

破產了‧如何絕處逢生

近期大馬驚爆每日平均有14人宣告破產，雖然有人質疑數據看似有點誇張，不過卻敲起社會對信貸破產的警鐘，一步一步地闖進破產禁區。

在申請破產人數越來越多之際，破產的現象也漸漸趨向年輕化，無論是大學新鮮人，或是剛踏上創業道路的年輕人，都可能成為破產“死神”點中的倒霉對象。

本期《財富焦點》要奮力破解逐漸升溫的“破產之謎”，讓“破產真相”直接浮出台面，鑑定種種引起破產的“導火線”及未來的應對之路，畢竟破產並非“大結局”，期望有天能像破蛹的蝴蝶重生！

過去5年，共有3萬8357名年齡介於25至44歲的人士破產，相等於每天有41人申請破產。政府更揚言要針對這驚人的數據展開調查，不過可以肯定的是，破產的主要因素包括無力償還汽車貸款、商務貸款以及卡債。

每天41人申請破產

大馬破產局的統計數據顯示，國內2010年首季破產人數達4513人，比較2009年同期的3670人，多出843人或2.30%。

根據大馬破產局的解釋，破產是指某人士在無力償還至少3萬令吉的情況下，而被高庭宣判“持續性破產”。

由於信用卡申請條件寬鬆，目前有1000萬人以信用卡作為消費型態，然而少過30%的持卡人每月將款項還清。

買車買到破產？

在破產者當中，以拖欠汽車貸款所佔比重最高，當中年輕人佔95%。一般認為，汽車貸款的條件寬鬆，再加上打工族虛榮心作祟，沒有依據本身能力來購買汽車，都是一大禁忌！

破產知多少？

一個人破產後會面對怎樣的影響？

一旦接獲破產令，在沒有獲得法庭批准的情況，破產者的財產都不能隨意“更動”，而他的財產將由破產總監（Director General of Insolvency）接收及管理。

同時，破產總監將成為破產者所有存摺、信函及相關文件的擁有者。

如何脫離窮籍？

在1967年破產法令下，共有3個方法脫離窮籍，包括：（惟大馬沒有自動脫離機制）

1.取消破產令，當中出現的情況有：

―法庭認為欠債人不應該被判入窮籍

―法庭對欠債人償還所有債務而感到滿意

―法庭發現所有在新加坡進行的訴訟對欠債人造成影響，且須在當地進行。

2.在法庭的指示下脫離窮籍

你可以透過高等法院申請脫離窮籍，不過在未作出宣判前，法庭將聆聽破產總監及債權人的供詞，並考慮多項因素，包括年齡、收入及資產。

此外，法庭也會考量你償還予債權人的利息，及在破產總監處理案件時是否給予百分百的合作。

3.透過破產總監發出脫離窮籍證書

破產總監可以本身的判斷能力，讓判入窮籍後的欠債人脫離窮籍，主要考量的因素包括：

―破產原因

―破產期限

―破產者的資產

―破產者的年齡或健康

―破產者的行為舉止

―破產者給予的合作精神

*為此，破產者須提供百分百的合作予破產總監！

要特別留意的是，破產是項嚴重的問題，應該是在“走投無路”的情況下選擇的“生路”，因為一旦被判入窮籍後，將面對諸多的阻攔，包括限制出國、擔任公司董事職位、進行商業活動並將有關收益輸入本身的資產內（但卻無法償還拖欠債權人的利息）。

不能“自動”脫離窮籍

破產者也須“交出”所有的財產，包括房子及汽車。在大馬，破產者並不能“自動”脫離窮籍，唯一的方法是得到法庭或破產總監的批准，不過當中仍取決於是否遭到債權人的反對。

奧斯卡國際理財機構總裁李國源表示，一般上若拖欠超過3萬令吉而無力攤還，將迫使有關人士慢慢“接近”破產的邊緣，然而選擇破產與否，仍取決於有關人士的意願。

“很難說明，究竟要欠債多少才要申請破產，因為有些人就算有錢，也不願還錢，寧願報窮。不過，若欠債額太大，破產已是逼不得已的做法。”

應先向AKPK尋求援助

不過，他建議瀕臨破產的人士先向信貸諮詢與債務管理機構（AKPK）尋求援助，才選擇踏上“破產之路”。

“此機構將與銀行方面洽談彈性的攤還方式，其實銀行也不希望欠債人完全不償還貸款，畢竟呆賬或壞賬是銀行最不想看到的。”

沒做功課
創業失敗

在創業的部份，早前有媒體打出這樣驚人的標題：“中國的大學生創業籌資辦公司，開業9天即告破產！”

23歲的舒正義畢業自西安工程大學電子信息系，和許多大學畢業生一樣，他嘗試通過招聘機構或托家人朋友找工作。後來雖然有一份不錯的工作，但他卻選擇了辭職，想在自己的專業上有所發展。當時，正義與8名同學及朋友籌資7萬8000人民幣（約馬幣3 萬6000令吉）開始創辦本身的公司，並取得了一種環保防水手電的代理。正義抱著“把一件平凡的事做好就不平凡，把一件普通的事做好就不普通”的宗旨。

公司先後招聘了20多名員工，而且大多數都是在籍大學生。事實上，經營公司和課堂學到的完全是兩回事，短短幾天內，正義就感到了壓力。

當初承諾辦理公司注冊手續的代理公司在拿了他1萬人民幣後毫無音訊，一時資金短缺成了這家剛剛起步公司的絆腳石。

他一天沒吃飯，拖著疲憊的身體跑遍學校及銀行，都無法籌到錢，原因在於沒有房子或汽車做抵押，也沒有公司做擔保。

從以上的例子來看，大學生剛剛畢業，一般的想法都過於理想化。從正義公司的營運情況而言，他們之前根本沒有或沒有認真做過市場調查及研究，譬如哪些客戶會使用他們的產品，或許連他們本身都不清楚真正的客戶群。

這樣的推銷方式根本就少了目的性，只是扮演“等待”的角色而等人來買。然而，作為一個企業，所需要的是毅力及腳踏實地一步一步走下來。

同時，像這樣的公司，由於資金流動不是很大，因此遇到一點資金困難就面臨宣告破產窘境，確實有點誇張。

李國源認為，創業失敗例子高企，往往是因為創業者本身的心理及準備建設做得不足，問題在於不是有錢就能創業，因當中需要的是能力及人才。

他不諱言，一些中小型企業倒閉，也可能是股東出現問題，在創業前沒有擬定詳盡的計劃書、資本不足，在“匆匆忙忙”的情況下就打算創業。

現金流管理舉足輕重

“其實從公司開始營運的首5年，都是處於起步階段，需要時間來摸索，而這也是為何銀行須查看有關公司至少3年的營運紀錄，才決定是否批准貸款申請。”

他指出，在創業的過程中，現金流管理扮演舉足輕重的角色，若無法達到此目標，整家公司的營運就會卡住。

他說，有些公司甚至在面臨資金週轉的窘境迫使下，利用信用卡的便利獲得現金，結果要填補的“洞”越來越多，且信用卡的利息也不斷飆漲，直到達無法攤還的地步。

他提到，對創業的人來說，公司營運不當也對個人的財務起負面影響，“典當”個人的資產，因此建議創業人士參與“貸款保障計劃”，確保在公司面臨營運問題時，不會侵蝕個人“遺產”。

卡債纏身
破產風越刮越“年輕”

申請破產人數可用“比比皆是”來形容，近年申請破產人數走勢激增，市場相信這是與經濟不景有關。

事實上，申請破產的人數當中，有不少是欠下信用卡賬的年輕人，加上銀行向受不起物質引誘、收入又低的年輕人濫發信用卡，很容易導致他們陷入債務危機，一旦無法還債，就只好走上申請破產之途。

此外，金融機構貸款門檻過低、年輕人崇尚名牌及缺乏理財觀念同樣導致申請現象變得越來越年輕化。

有人利用破產避債騙財

也有另一種人刻意申請破產，故意不還債。他們企圖通過簽卡、借錢等方法取得一大筆金錢後，將錢轉到妻子或親朋戚友的賬戶，然後向法庭申請破產。只要準備充足，財產轉移是無法追究的。在他們申請破產後，過了4年便可以恢復自由身，債務一筆勾消。在這種情況下，破產法即成為他們避債，甚至騙財的合法管道。

由於申請破產者中不乏剛畢業的大專生，這種情況令各界憂慮年輕人的借貸觀念薄弱，加上過著收入與支出嚴重失衡的生活，最後在踏足社會不久後，便要為自己在求學期間的揮霍付出代價。

理財師指出，信用卡固然為大專生帶來消費方便，但也間接鼓勵學生養成“先用未來錢”的習慣。

“每人有本身的一套理財原則，並不需要別人教導，不過銀行業者為了爭取客戶而放鬆發卡尺度，令市民對自身的前途變得短視，都是刺激申請破產人士飆升的原因。”

理財師勸告年輕人不應“跟風”，胡亂申請破產，更不要視破產為解決債務的最好方法，因為破產對個人前途有莫大影響，並建議政府加重對破產的法則，以阻嚇市民，尤其是年輕人任意申請破產。

“年輕人破產後可能前途盡毀，除了不能得到一些專業資格包括會計師和律師外，也難以再次獲得大公司聘用。因此，隨意申請破產，最後只會令自己變成失去信用的一群，將會得不償失。”

整體經濟發展不足

對於破產風潮越刮越大的這個時候，李國源不諱言整體經濟發展不足是當中的原因之一，包括薪酬不足以應付生活需求，導致負債程度加深。

“當然，其他的原因還包括理財觀念不強及輕易取得信貸便利等。”

破產之後怎麼辦？

破產意味著要有一個全新的開始，同時也是全新的挑戰。凡申請個人破產的人，他的信用額度可能已經不再重要了，因債權人會將申請過破產的人視為“洪水猛獸”。

債權人害怕自己手中的合約再次成為一堆廢紙。在一段時間之內，破產人可能沒有貸款或者申請信用卡的機會。就算有，極高的利率和其他各種費用可能也會讓那些剛剛破產的人望而卻步。

有學者認為，申請破產是聰明人選擇的一條活路，因為這一切總會過去的，再也不用過著那種到處招搖的日子。

不過，從破產泥沼中走出來，確實要經歷一段很長的路。而在這過程中，最重要是要做到以下幾點：

1.放下平日的“臭架子”

如果一個人決定申請破產，那就意味著他須在若多年之內接受“改造”。破產者的薪金每月只會被扣除10%，一家大小還能保留住所。

只不過，破產者不得經商或成為他人的商業伙伴、不能在近親的公司工作或管理近親的任何企業、在沒有通知貸款人他是破產者的情況下不得舉債超過1000令吉，以及不能購買任何產業。

破產者必須告別以往的生活方式，放下豪華奢侈的生活方式，反之應該對每個月的房貸和生活費等精打細算。

當然，破產者不能再繼續申請新債務，尤其是在沒有經過批准之前，申請信用卡等。破產者須重新依靠現金，而不是以信用卡來支付費用。

2.重新奪回信用

申請破產後的生活是一把雙刃劍：以前錯誤的信用管理讓破產者積債重重，如今卻須重新奪回自己信用的管理權，重新打理自己的財富生涯。

既然破產已成事實，現在所要做的就是重新建立自己良好的信用，惟當中取決於許多變化因素，包括依靠手上所擁有的資源。如果一個破產者有一份很高的收入，那麼他就擁有了一半的資本，因為如果能夠按時支付自己房產的貸款，在他的信用記錄上將寫下良好的一章。

理財師認為，態度和堅持能夠改變一切，這一切取決於你是一個怎樣的消費者，包括你平時的一舉一動。

3.把壞影響降到最低

由於每個人都在緊盯著破產者的信用紀錄，所以破產對生活造成的影響恐怕連破產者本身都無法想像。

必須注意的是，在現實生活中，由於雇主對於宣佈破產的人士存有歧視是違法的，所以很多雇主在錄用員工之前總是先仔細看一下他的信用記錄，確定沒有大問題之後才敢錄用。

破產之後，還有一點必須做到的是注明自己的破產原因。雖然不會帶來太大幫助，不過至少可以讓雇主直接瞭解你破產的原因，且更好地進行判斷，然後決定究竟要不要雇用你這“倒霉”的破產者。

破產並非等同於“世界末日” ，也不等同於宣判“死刑”，破產局不會奪走破產者的所有東西，破產者倒是還享有“重新開始”新生活的機會。

破產也許是個讓我們學習信貸管理的好機會，但肯定不是我們向前邁進或成長的絆腳石，只要信念堅定，我們還是有機會奪回本身的“信貸清譽”！

一位爸爸下班回家很晚了，很累并有点烦，发现他五岁的儿子靠在门旁等他。

“爸，我可以问你一个问题吗 ?”

“当然可以，什麽问题?”父亲回答

“爸，你一小时可以赚多少钱?”

“这与你无关，你爲什麽问这个问题?”父亲生气的说着

“我只是想知道，请告诉我，你一小时赚多少钱?”小孩哀求着

“假如你一定要知道的话，我一小时赚20块美金”

“喔！”小孩低着头这样回答。小孩跟着说︰

“爸，可以借我10块美金吗?”

父亲发怒了。

“如果你问这问题只是要借钱去买毫无意义的玩具或东西的话，给我回到你的房间并上床好好想想爲什麽你会那麽自私。我每天长时间辛苦工作着，没时间和你玩小孩子的游戏”小孩安静地回自己房并关上门。

这位父亲坐下来还对小孩的问题生气他怎麽敢只爲了钱而问这种问题 ?

约一小时后，他平静下来了，开始想着他可能对孩子太凶了。

或许他应该用那10块钱美金买小孩真正想要的，他不常常要钱用。

父亲走到小孩的房门并打开门。

“你睡了吗孩子?”他问着。

正当的直销与层压式诈骗

As defined by the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations, direct selling refers to the selling of products and services directly to consumers, usually in their homes or at their working places, or places away from a fixed retail location. Sales are typically made through presentations or demonstrations by direct selling representatives.

Through direct selling, customers may sit back and relax at home and still enjoy quality goods. Unfortunately, isolated unethical companies may make use of the direct selling approach to deceive customers. These kinds of fraudulence greatly tarnish the reputation of the direct selling industry and erode customers' confidence in direct selling companies.

In fact, there are great differences between bona fides direct selling companies and illegitimate pyramid scheme companies. The former provide excellent service and products to satisfy customers' needs, while the latter only aim at short term profit.

You can easily distinguish the bona fides from the fraudulence according to the following guidelines set by the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations.

事實上，商德良好、誠實可靠的直銷公司與非法層壓式公司之間存在著本質的區別：前者以提供優質產品和服務、滿足消費者長遠的需求為經營宗旨；後者則主要以在短期內盡快獲取高額利潤為目的。

研究表明阅读对于减压舒缓心情效果最佳

疲惫不堪时，你会做什么来放松心情？听音乐、散步还是喝茶？

英国一项研究表明，所有放松活动中，阅读舒缓心情效果最佳。

放松心情

英国银河巧克力读书俱乐部委托萨塞克斯大学的“心智实验室”国际咨询公司进行这项研究，以支持俱乐部举办的“不可抗拒的阅读”活动。

受调查对象先通过测试提高压力水平和心率，随后参与各种活动缓解压力。

研究结果表明，阅读放松效果最佳，6分钟内就能够降低压力水平68%。听音乐能够降低61%的压力，喝茶或咖啡降低54%，散步降低42%。

英国《每日邮报》29日引述认知神经学家戴维·刘易斯的话报道：“书上的文字能够激发人们的创造力，从而带人们进入另一种状态。”

心理学家认为，阅读时人们的思绪会集中在文字上，进入文学世界，紧张的身体和大脑可以因此得到放松。

有益健康

英国3月进行的一项类似调查显示，阅读有益身体健康。

国家精神健康中心主任路易斯·阿普尔比说：“当人们听到阅读‘有好处’时，也许认为这是因为它能够增长知识。但是轻松的阅读同样能够使人精神焕发，帮人逃离每天的压力，放缓大脑工作节奏。”

调查结果显示，4,000多名受访者中，63%的人表示读书是为了放松身心，50%的人享受阅读过程中逃离现实的感觉，仅有29%的人是为了增长知识而读书。另外，82%的人认为阅读能让他们心情放松，超过33%的人说睡前阅读有助睡眠。

知名神经科医师苏珊·格林菲尔德说：“读小说能让人们从日常生活的压力中暂时逃脱。……看杂志甚至菜谱能令人感到安慰。我们的大脑时刻受到各种信息‘轰炸’，阅读是一种放松的好办法。”

形式多样

调查结果还显示，人们喜爱的阅读形式多种多样。

超过半数的被调查对象选择书籍作为他们最喜爱的读物，超过三分之一的人喜欢看杂志和报纸，9%偏爱网上阅读，4%的人选择电子书。

“全国阅读年”活动主管威尔逊·弗莱彻肯定了阅读形式多样性这一趋势。

“阅读令人们在生活中积极向上，但阅读内容并无一定之规。所有形式的阅读都很重要，它能开拓视野、使生活更轻松，所以你读什么书并不重要，关键是它让你感觉良好，”威尔逊说。

调查显示，各种阅读题材中，谋杀悬疑类最受欢迎，其次是爱情类。

每天坚持就能多活55年秘诀

据美国广播公司报导指出，当代美国男人寿命比起二十世妃之初平均只活四十七岁，显然已有长足进步。目前美国男性的平均寿命为七十三岁，但是，如果养生有道，是有可能活得更长。因此，如你想多活十或二十年，以下作法都值得作为添寿之道。

第一、每天服用三百毫克维他命C，多活五年半。

据加州柏克莱大学公共卫生学院进行的研究调查指出，多吃维他命C的男性比维他命C吃得少的男性活得较长。三十五岁的男性如果每天服用二百毫克以上，比每天服用不到五十毫克的男性可以多活五年半。从水果、蔬菜和营养补品等来源，是获取维他命C最聪明的方法。

第二、将胆固醇维持在二百以下，最好的情况可以多活四年。

运用饮食习惯、运动、服药等各种方式，将胆固醇降至二百以下，至少可以增加半年的活命时间。如果目前胆固醇在三百以上的人，能够将胆固醇降至二百以下，很可能多活四年。

第三、每天消耗多出的三百卡洛里，可以多活二至三年。

根据对动物进行的一项研究显示，卡洛里的摄取量如果减少三分之一，可以降低胆固醇的指数，同时，使该动物的存活寿命增加三分之一或更长。至于，人类是否也会因减少卡洛里而多活二、三十年则尚难得知。但是，减少卡洛里的摄取量，至少可让人活出活力和健康。

如果现在每天摄取三千卡洛里的人，能够减少摄取量达三百卡洛里，或是多做一些运动，消耗掉多出的热量，将更有益于个人的健康。

第四、每周要固定跟好友至少聚会一次。

为了活得久活得有趣，我们都需要友情的鼓舞。根据一项研究指出，保持有活力的社交生活，可以让人多活个十年。很少社交生活的人，可能比一般人少活四年半。而社交生活比一般人活跃的人，可以多活四年半。

第五、每周跑四趟两英里的路，可以多活八年半。

最近针对一万八千人所进行的一项研究显示，有气运动能达到最高段的人，比最初阶的人可以多活八年半。如果换成运动计算，那就是在二十分钟左右，可以跑完二英里。

第六、定期检查你的结肠。

据悉，美国的女性比男性活得长，主要的原因之一是女性比男性常到医院看病。经常上医院做检查可以避免发生胡里胡涂就一命呜呼的遗憾。最近一项研究显示，扫描可能患病的部位，有助于让人们多活个二、三年。男性年满五十岁之后，每年最好作一次大便检查。如果家族有人曾经罹患结肠癌，最好将结肠检查多提前几年进行。每五年也应作一次乙状结肠镜检查或数位结肠检查。

第七、治好胃溃疡可多活二年。

据美国胃肠学期刊指出，如果你有胃痛的毛病，最好做一次检查，及时查出胃溃疡并服药，将可多活二年多。

第八、买一只狗陪你优闲散步，可多活五年。

据库柏研究所指出，男人如果每周有五天可带着狗温和的散步三十分钟，将可以改善个人的健康状况，多活五年。

第九、一周吃肉品不超过三次，以豆类代之，可多活九年。

如果主食以黄豆、荚果、其他豆类等替代肉类食品，将可以增加百分之十三的寿命，但是，也不必因此全面禁食肉类，一周食量不超出四盎斯即可。

第十、多作爱，较少死于心脏病发。

据作性行为和死亡关系的研究人士指出，他们发现性活动较频繁的男性，因心脏病发致死的机率，不到性活动较少的男性的一半。换言之，多作爱，心脏病病发机率较少。

第十一、一周上两次教堂，多活七年至十四年。

有一项研究指出，一周上教堂一次以上的白人，比完全不上教堂的白人平均多活七年。而在黑人族群，每周上教堂一次以上者比完全不上者能多活十四年。因为上教堂的人，抽烟、喝酒较少，这也是也们较长寿的一大原因。同时，上教堂会有充分的社交生活，这也是较长寿的一大因素。

第十二、不抽烟，多活五年。

或许抽烟的坏处你已听烦了，但是，这项事实有必要知道。如果你今年三十五岁，而且烟不离手，若是当下戒烟，可以多赚五年的阳寿。心动不如行动，戒了吧！

第十三、强烈的好奇心，多问问题，可以增寿五年。

据美国老年研究所追踪一千一百位老人的调查指出，最有好奇心的老人比不会提问的老人的寿命增加百分之三十。又据健康照顾中心的劳森教授亦指出，有高度好奇心表示能适应各种改变、挫折和挑战的能力较强。

第十四、其他增寿的方法还有很多。

譬如：少打大哥大，每通话一分钟，寿命减短四十五秒。可以搬到乡下住，可多活一到八个月。多吃高纤食物，在未来二十年的致死率可以减百分之十三。
